Nature and Nurture

"Nature" refers largely to our genetics. It includes the genes we are born with and other hereditary factors that can impact how our personality is formed and influence the way that we develop from childhood through adulthood.

"Nurture" encompasses the environmental factors that impact who we are. This includes our early childhood experiences, the way we were raised, our social relationships, and the surrounding culture.

The Nature is the genetic predisposition or biological makeup of an individual, nurture is the physical world that influences the nature. Some theorists lay emphasis on “stability” and others on “plasticity”.Behavioral epigenetic research has indicated that life experiences can affect gene expression.

The Nature is vulnerable to nurture, and there is evidence for bidirectional and interactive effects between parenting and children's characteristics.During various phases of development, children need appropriate experiences that support their interest in exploration, experimentation, and self-direction.Hence, modifying nurturing ways by adapting to the nature of a child will lead to desirable consequences both to the individual and society at large.

The Nature vs. Nurture theory has developed over the course of human history through many different words or phrases. The main argument is based on how humans develop, either through natural genetics or through nurturing in a human's raising or life experiences. This has created two themes in psychology, Nativism vs. Empiricism, where nativism takes the natural approach and empiricism takes the nurture side of the argument.

CONCLUSION:- A person's behaviour develops with influence from both their natural being (heredity and genetics) and their nurtured environment.
